Abstract: Field Experience, YWCA, Fall 2017: I chose to interview my supervisor to learn about professional behavior. She shared with me that it is important to see how familial and interpersonal relationships play an important role in the how each of her clients develop base off what transpired throughout their lifetime. She shared with me about how she had witnessed a teenage girl go in similar footsteps as her mother. Her high school sweetheart was abusive and she mentioned that he loved her when he hit her because her father loved her mother when he hit her.

FLE Content Area Reflection: My supervisor looks at how their families from a younger age to growing adult played a significant role in their development. For example, the specific clients mental state can be seen as a result of her being repeatedly raped and molested at an early age which fits Human Growth and Development Across the Lifespan because this shows how her development was shaped by her surroundings. In reflection upon the teen girl, my heart hurts for her because what she grew up knowing was not love but to her that was love. Her boyfriend did not love her unless he hit her and that should never be the case.
