Kiara M. Sims

Hello Everyone!

My name is Kiara M. Sims. I was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan and in the year of 2012, I began my educational journey here at Western Michigan University. I am currently pursuing a degree in Family Studies with the anticipated graduation date of Spring 2018 at Western Michigan University.

One major thing that I am very passionate about is helping children and their families. It is my sole belief that every child deserves to make a difference in this world and leave a lasting hand print within our community. I would like to specialize with children that have anxiety and depression disorder or some form of traumatic trauma within their life. I want to help families and most importantly the child implement methods to deal with this due to my diagnosis of anxiety and depression in the year 2010.

I know from first hand that this form of disorder can sometimes be very hard to deal with and I want to make the path to dealing with any form of mental imbalance just a little easier for children and their families. Each day is a new day and each day is a day to make a lasting impact on our children's lives. So why not start now?

Throughout the remaining of my portfolio, I hope you not only gain knowledge of family life education, but also see the passion that I have for children.
